I not only have a Consider Yourself Raked stamp but I have one on sale! This stamp is 2 1/4" long and 3/4" tall. The first line says Consider Yourself and on the second line is Raked. This is all in script. This stamp can be purchased in one of two ways. It is part of a $20.00 (includes shipping) um grabbag (total of 20 stamps) or it can be purchased individually for 30% off of $2.50 um or $5.00 mounted which makes them $1.75 um or $3.50 mounted plus .55 cents shipping um or .78 cents mounted. ($1.00 for Canada and $2.00 for Australia and Great Britain). All of the stamps on plate #1 & #2 on the sale page are 30% off. If you want more than one stamp let me know and I will weigh your package and let you know what the shipping is. Click on http://www.kans.com/~stamps and go to the Sale Page to see the stamps. I accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, checks and money orders. Barbara Zachrel - barbara@kans.com Creative Images - http://www.kans.com/~stamps 1112 Neosho Burlington KS 66839 (316) 364-8744 - - ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Mar 1998 12:48:58 -0600 From: "Barbara" Subject: RubberTown: COMM: HALOS Grabbag $5.00 Fellow Stampers, Halos are acrylic blocks with recessed grooves that have industrial strength Velcro hook tape in the grooves. You can see through the mount so you can see exactly where you are stamping. You can also combine more than one stamp on a mount instead of stamping several individual images on a card. You put the loop side of the industrial strength Velcro on the back of the um. It has a sticky back so it is easy to put on. Then you just put the um on the acrylic mount and the Velcro holds it together. There are several people on the list that have expressed an interest but don't want to spend $20.00 for the starter kit of HALOS plus the $5.99 for the yard of loop tape and $15.00 for the Kai scissors without knowing they like the system first. So this got me to thinking that what people need is a trial kit that would be very inexpensive and still something useful if they find that HALOS aren't the way they want to go. So what I have to offer is a HALOS grabbag. It has a 1" x 1" acrylic mount with the hook tape already in the recessed grooves and 5 postage size ums that already have the industrial strength loop tape on them. All of this for $5.00 including shipping in U.S. Add $1.00 shipping to Canada and $2.00 shipping to Australia. The HALOS starter set does not have the 1" x 1" mount in it so if you decide you like the system there would be no duplication of mounts. The postage size ums include a dragon holding a heart, a blue bird getting ready to land, a butterfly in flight, a scarecrow in a frame looking at a sunflower, and a frog on a lily pad. For those of you that are already sold on the idea of HALOS I have a special for you too. Free shipping in U.S. when purchasing the HALOS starter set along with my UM Grabbag. You can see the image in my grabbag at http://www.kans.com/~stamps/plate.htm The HALOS starter set consists of four acrylic blocks. Sizes included are l.5" x l.5", 2" x 3.5", 2" x 6", and 3.5" x 4.5". Each set comes with 1/4 yd of 4" loop tape. The whole set of 4 and the tape is $20 (plus $3 shipping if purchased without the um grabbag). Additional tape is available for $5.99 per yard. A good pair of scissors is a must to cut through the rubber and industrial strength loop tape. KAI scissors are wonderful. They are actually scissors for trimming Bonsai trees. Stampers use them for cutting ums (unmounted rubber). They are very sharp and cut through rubber like it was butter. I sell the Kai scissors for $15.00 plus $1.00 shipping. Let me know if I can ever help you with anything! I accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and checks. I have never ordered from her before but she confirmed my order and today I got it, way before she could have even gotten my check. The kits look really neat, I know I will have a great time stamping the covers and deciding what to put in them. Also she sent several freebies, more than the kits, a pair of pinking scissors and some fun collage stuff(my favorite). Thank you so much Sarah for being a great vendor and I will definitely order from you again soon. Might it be possible to incorporate hand made paper with baby powder sprinkled on it in the pulp drying phase? I'm thinking about perhaps some little booties or something. You can use cookie cutters for the shape. Perhaps a heart or something else small and simple. If you have the Grummer pour kit (or make a mold from an embroidery hoop) lay the cookie cutter on the screen and pour the pulp into it. Then when you pull the paper, sprinkle a bit of powder while you're extracting the extra water, before the drying process. THen you can use the little scented trinkets on the cards as embellishments. I'm not sure how the scent will hold up, but it might be fun. :) The Cottage Stamper (aka Juliet Page) ~ overlooking Mill Creek on the Chesapeake Bay ~ Maryland USA ~ At 04:19 AM 3/21/98 -0500, Lisa Mallette wrote: > >Wondering if anyone can help with this. It's 1 a.m. here and I haven't >made it to the stamp room...again.... >Mary > Mary, There are many days when I don't get to stamp. :( I work full time (engineer), and I'm going to school for my PhD in engineering. In addition I have an almost 3 year old and the general household stuff to deal with. Two major things I've discovered which help tremendously are MultiTasking and Breaking it Down! Sounds crazy, but it works! Generally when I make cards I do batches of 30 or so. I'll come up with the card design piece meal... sometimes it takes several before I find all the 10 minutes to get it done. But the advantage is that my designs tend to be better balanced if developed over multiple "sittings." THen I'll do one small step assembly line style... while I'm cooking dinner for example. If my card has a lot of collage pieces, I'll run down to the studio and stamp & EP an entire 8.5x11 sheet of hearts. That takes 5 minutes. Then while I'm stirring the rice, I'll be cutting them out. I carry around a little shoe box with the current card parts. Later inbetween loads of laundry, while talking on the phone, I'll color them in. Same goes for the 10 minutes before class while I'm waiting for the Prof to show up. Little ziploc baggies work great for traveling. Gee, shall I mention how much one can accomplish while sitting on the Can!?!? Or while hubby's doing the driving for the errands on the weekend? Sometimes I'll be waiting for my daughter to finish up breakfast before school, and I'll be cutting snibbets of foam tape and putting them on the back of the embellishments. It's amazing how much one can get done in 10 minute intervals while doing something else. :) If I waited till I had a long block of time I'd never get ANYTHING done! LOL! I use the same approach for my work-work and school work too, though it's often that 10 minutes doesn't even help with homework! LOL! We have flex time at the office, and I do a lot of cyber commuting, so while I'm waiting for my 'puter to finish crunching some numbers for some analysis, I'll make the 30 or so little ribbon bows.... All it takes is sneaking in 5 minutes here and there. :) Though I must admit to spending more of those 5 minutes on school work lately! ;) The Cottage Stamper ~ aka Juliet Page ~ overlooking Mill Creek on the Chesapeake Bay ~ Maryland, USA ~ - - ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Mar 1998 17:58:28 EST From: Holmes864 Subject: RubberTown: Need a Heat Gun? Thank you Robyn!! All fo the art work is wonderful...this has been a great swap! 1. Jeanne -- on white cs she stamped this lovely birdhouse scene (is it one stamp or multiple ones?) and added some foliage and clouds. It was colored with pencils. 2. Laura (stampmouse) -- on cream cs she created her own background (a series of lines and dashes), then she layered a piece of burnt orange cs, on top of that is layered the birdhouse (stamped on the cream cards stock. In the upper corner of the orange cs is dried grass(?) and in the lower corner is another smaller birdhouse which she colored with pencils. 3. Marcial -- a bookmark with birdhouse stamped in the middle (I've have never seen this stamp before, who makes it?) and a butterfly stamped above it. On the bottom of the bookmark she punched out a heart and flower design. 4. Debra -- the card is black glossy cs...white cs that has been cut into a frame which has sponged green and blue with images of a bird carrying a twig layed on top...and in the "frame part" is four solid birdhouse stamped in red. 5. Becky (grammy)-- slate blue cs with the image of a tree branch holding three birdhouses stamped in the center and colored with markers. The edge of opening flap of the card was cut off with some sort of scalloped edged scissors and she glued birdhouse wall paper to the card to replace what she had cut off...but she left enough room to sponge the exposed part of the in green. Okay...I really do need to practice my descriptions! I have not done the art work any justice. Thank you so much Robyn for hosting this swap and for the paper goodies! and a big thanks to everyone who played. We had a major storm over the weekend and I was all out of any kind of double-sided tape but the technique works quite easily with a glue stick so I was able to make some. I even made some with tiny tiles instead of strips! Looks very effective and a nice way to use up all those scraps which are simply too pretty to throw away. I appreciate you taking the time to send this to me. Anna - - ------------------------------ End of rubbertown-digest V1 #293 ********************************
