From: THMI Subject: (thmi-fms) update, etc... Date: 10 May 2002 22:23:24 -0600 (MDT) thmi-fms subscriber, Just a quick note to let you know I'm still here and slowly progressing toward validating the fibro program. I would like to welcome recent subscribers to the list. I hope that your time on the list is rewarded with some helpful information. For those that may be unfamiliar with the approach that we've taken for fibro you can see basically the whole program except for a few specific details here: http://www.xmission.com/~total/temple/Articles/program_01.html I met with a doctor (MD) this week and shared with him the information and results people have been having using this approach. I will be meeting with him again next week when the other Dr. in his practice is available to meet with us. If things go well we may have more success stories to share in a couple months. One thing I hope will eventually happen is that insurance companies will reimburse costs for some of the program. If anyone has any questions on the approach, what they might expect, or whatever... please feel free to ask. I've asked Janice to share more of her experience when she returns from another short vacation, early next week. I hope that this finds you all doing well. Date: 14 May 2002 09:53:42 -0600 (MDT) Hello thmi-fms subscribers, I want to welcome the newly subscribed members to this list. I hope that the information shared on this list gives you a better understanding of the condition. Understanding fibromyalgia is the first step in reversing the condition. I hope that this finds you doing well. In my last post I shared my thinking on acid reflux. Going through some of the testimonials I have received I found this for Alexis so thought I would share it with you. (the Soapbox section of the website has more info on acid reflux.) My thinking is that the root of the physical problems for fibromyalgia begins with health of the digestive system. But what is it that was responsible for the upset of digestive health that started the downward spiral? This is different for each person. In the case of Alexis, she has celiac disease, a genetic condition which interferes with digestion of foods containing gluton/wheat. I think that this condition is what lead to the onset of FMS for Alexis, she was diagnosed w/FMS at age 12. In the case of Colleen, she had a history of anemia. I think that this is what possibly started the FMS cycle going for her. Her blood not being able to carry sufficient oxygen to the cells the cells became acidic as they relied more heavily on the anaerobic process of glycolysis for energy production. Meredith said that she was under much stress. I think that stress was most likely the trigger for Mavis and Bonnie as well. Stress has a negative effect on the digestive system. I think that stress is probably the number one triggering factor for the onset of FMS in the majority of people that suffer with the condition. Others report an illness that preceeded onset, or chemical exposure, a traumatic event or automobile accident, the triggering factor varies from one person to the next. A person can follow this program and restore their health but unless they also address those issues that may be the real root cause for them, then it is possible that the condition will reappear down the road. (However, with the program you will have the tools to keep yourself healthy so I guess it may be possible that you can always counter balance the ill effects of stress without having to address the issues of causing the stress.) But for your health, learn to evaluate stressful issues in your life. Deal with those that are in your power to change, let go of the rest. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Janice is back from her short vacation so I will be asking her to share her experience to the list. All the best, Jim Testimonial of Alexis W. My name is Alexis Walker. I am 19 years old. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia when I was 12. I have spent years on medication and struggling with physical and mental depression as well as exhaustion. The day of my first appointment with Jim I had just come from the doctor and he told me I have acid-reflux disease. Since using the sauna and taking supplements I haven't had any problems with acid reflux. I have also had 100% more energy! I used to need a nap daily and still need at least 8 hours of sleep at night. I would have "good" and "bad" days with muscle pain and there was no way to determine what each day would be until I was upon it. It hurt to be touched and I felt like crying from pain on "bad" days. "Good" days just meant I didn't hurt unless there was a reason, but I was still very sensitive, especially to cold. I would bruise if I got too cold. Now I can stay awake and be energetic. I am taking 20 credit hours in school and I am doing fine. Before I could barely make it with 12 credit hours. This last weekend I went to Yuba lake with my friends. The high on Saturday was 66 [degrees temp.], but we were all out on the lake tubing, water skiing, and swimming to the cliffs to jump off. That was the coldest water I've been in, but my muscles handled it fine, I swam 100+ feet in it and didn't bruise at all. Plus I was fine for the rest of the day as well. I'm doing things now I thought I never could! I am back from my short holiday, and our computer is now operative. I am 55 years of age and have suffered from Fibromyalgia for over seven years. Before that time, I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue. Fibromyalgia was my main concern due to the severity of its symptoms. Symptoms such as: pain to the point I could not be touched, digestive complication in the colon and lower intestine area. I was sensitive to temperature changes ( always cold, and the cold seemed to bring on attacks). My eyes were always tired and could not focus. Swelling of the body to such a degree that I would enlarge 1/3 my usual size. Muscle spasms which kept me awake at nights. Does this all sound too familiar? The above conditions stopped my normal life. One of the most contributing factors was stress. I know life is stressful, however, try to reduce any unnecessary stressful situations. I spent years with doctors and clinics both here in the US and in England. No one really had an answer for me other than - "live with it the best you can". I felt that wasn't good enough. I then turned to Alternative Medicine - Herbal medicine and Accupunture. This helped up to a point - but I needed more. My bad days were more than my goods days. I wanted it the other way around. I read about Jim Clements' program in the newspaper and decided to contact him concerning his research. I met Jim in his office and he explained the entire program - it sounded like an answer. I began the programme in the summer of last year. I understand many feel it is expensive, however, it is less expensive than Western drugs (which we all know do not have an answer for us). I spent thousands of dollars and waisted my time on dead ends. To date, my condition has greatly improved inasmuch as I have more good days rather than bad. Unfortunately, there is at present no cure for Fibro. However, I believe Jim's program is the answer we are all looking for. My pain has been reduced, muscle spams are at a minium, digestive system much improved, swelling is not as seviere. I think this is great progress. I am more active - I play golf, I can drive again, do most of my own housework and generally enjoy living. There is no definite answer for all of us who suffer from fibro - I testify to you, THMI is the nearest thing to an answer that can be had. Good luck to all of you. Please ask me any questions. Date: 24 May 2002 10:42:30 -0600 (MDT) Hello thmi-fms subscriber, I hope that this finds you doing well. I want to thank Janice for sharing her experience to the list and for her willingness to answer any questions related to her experience following the program. I've shared with the list what is needed to follow the program. For those that may not know what the program entails you can find out more at: http://www.xmission.com/~total/temple/Articles/program_01.html I've shared the experiences of those that have followed this program. So far, every participant has seen excellent results in reversing symptoms of fibromyalgia following this program. They've found success where a western medicine drug approach had not helped. They no longer need to take pain meds and antidepressants. I don't know what else I can tell you. Until someone steps forward and is willing to participate, or until someone asks a question, activity on this list will very low. I suspect that money must be the issue holding most people back so I have tried to share information about things that you can do that do not cost money, ie reflecting upon how you deal with stress and taking steps to improve in that area. But that post apparently offended a couple people on the list, they unsubscribed after I sent that. I hope they find what they are looking for. Also, I hope that you did not take offense to the information and generalizations made. That was not my intention. The program, at a cost of about $1700, may seem expensive but it is very much worth the investment and will pay for itself many times over, over the life of the product. I have had my microwater system (I paid $1300 for the unit alone) for over 6 years now and have never regretted making the decision to purchase it. The offer of a money back guarantee still stands, and I will add to that a 10% discount for the first person that takes me up on that offer and is willing to share weekly progress to this forum. If you are currently working, I would encourage you to make the investment or do whatever you must to get better. The path of fibromyalgia is such that the physical condition continues to worsen. Then one day you find yourself unable to work, trying to get disability, and barely able to pay for living expenses. If you allow the condition to progress this far you will have lost your freedom, enslaved physically and financially to FMS, most likely for the remainder of your life. A drug cure will never be found. It is much more profitable to treat the condition. However, the condition can be reversed. If you are not going to do this, what are you going to do? And, when are you going to start? Or, are you just going to continue doing what you've been doing, that hasn't proven beneficial. If you just follow the recommended protocol prescribed by your doctor you will get the same results as everyone else following that path. One definition of insanity is doing the same thing expecting different results. As I've said before, understanding fibromyalgia is the first step in reversing it. There is a lot of information available on the net. Learn how the body is supposed to function and compare that with what researchers have found. I recommend the book "The Physiology Coloring Book" by Kapit, Macey, and Meisami. Other suggested reading is "Reverse Aging" by Whang, and "Acid & Alkaline" by Aihara. If money is not an issue, then fear must be the thing that is holding you back. Ponder on what it is that you are afraid of. Experiment, do not be afraid to try different things. One symptom of fibromyalgia is anxiety which makes this task of experimentation more difficult. Most likely you've tried a number of things in the past and it has not helped and some of the products may have even had a negative effect on the condition. I last year I bought a computer on e-bay. I sent the seller a money order for $2600. I did not receive a computer. This person had scammed more than 20 people out of their money. Last I heard the FBI was investigating him for mail fraud. I am a believer that what goes around comes around. I hope that he learns what he is to learn from the experience. I am not mad, nor do I hold any ill feelings towards this person. The point I want to make with the above information is that there are scammers on the net. But do not let the fear of being scammed prevent you from investigating possible beneficial alternatives. There are many more honest people in the world, and on the internet, than there are scammers. Fear of being scammed may even increase the chances of you being scammed. I like to think of myself as being an honest person. "What does it profit a man if he should gain the entire world but lose his soul"? Whatever you choose to do, I wish you success. If the program makes sense and you want to do it, I would be more than happy to help you. As most on this list know, the FIR sauna is one part of the four part program used by those following our program to reverse symptoms of fibromyalgia. Details of the program can be found at: http://www.xmission.com/~total/temple/Articles/program_01.html I found the following site that has an excellent article on FIR at http://www.hochealth.com/therapies/infrared.html Of particular interest is what is said in the last paragraph about the composition of "normal" perspiration and perspiration produced by FIR. Their sauna is priced at $2,995. You can achieve similar benefits using stand alone FIR heaters and save a lot of money.
