The redemption cards will be "Worth" Spit once they expire. $20 or less mark my words. Making what autograph cards that were redeamed VERY expensive and very limited after the expiration date. Does anyone make CCG cards with "redemption" cards? NO! Does any other manufacture of cards make redemption cards in such quanity as skybox does? I,ll say NO just for arguements sake. ;) A final product should have all the bugs worked out before it is presented to the public. And were just talking trading cards here folks. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to plan out, commision and aquire all autograph cards in a timely manner. If it doesnt work out in time, make more time till it's done or dont make redemption cards at all.. Afterall "TIME" Is man made, and you can make more of it. Redemption cards suck! And you can print that. Now lets see what happens with season 7 in July. It's only what, 10? Years in the making. I wonder how they will mess that up. Flip holograms that dont flip? 20 autograph cards of unknown actors? Or better yet 20 autograph cards that were done allready. How many Stewart's or Majel barrett's does one need? I did think the expiration date on the Insurrection redemption cards was way too short. They were released in early December and the expiration date was April 30, 1999. That's not even 5 full months. At a minimum it should be 1 year. -J!m mailto:encore@xmission.com To Unsubscribe from TrekChat send and put "unsubscribe trekchat" in the body without the quotes. -- Previous message archives are available via WWW at: or via FTP at: ftp.xmission.com --in-- /home/ftp/pub/lists/trekchat/archive ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: owner-trekchat@lists.xmission.com Date: 29 Apr 1999 08:18:39 -0600 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Sender: owner-trekchat@lists.xmission.com Precedence: bulk Reply-To: TrekChat@lists.xmission.com Archive and Unsubscribe information can be found at the bottom of this message. -- I'll be satisfied with just the auto! So instead they inserted redemption cards that you can mail in for exchange of the real autograph card. They have also used redemption cards in the past for special multi-card sets (like Master Series 4-card set and the DS9 9-card embossed set) and for cards that were too thick to put into packs (skymotion cards.) Another drawback to redemption cards is the additional cost of mailing them in certified. When is Blaze of Glory coming out? Bill: We're still working with our projected estimate of "late spring." Q: Can't you be more exact....like, what day? Bill: Sure: "a Wednesday." ;-) Seriously, there are always far too many variables to nail things down that precisely at this point in the process. And, in the case of Blaze of Glory, we are experiencing some uncharacteristic delays in getting access to certain resources. Combined with the fact that we have been working on about five different CCGs lately, it makes it a little more difficult to make specific estimates. Q: Can you summarize the facts of the expansion? Tim: We're planning on the usual configuration of 130 cards, broken down into 50 rares, 40 uncommons and 40 commons. You can probably expect 9-card expansion packs with 1 rare, 3 uncommons and 5 commons, packaged in 30-pack displays. Q: Will Blaze of Glory be remembered for the way it develops Star Trek CCG characters, themes or is it the gameplay that it will be most remembered for? Tim: This set is probably more focused on the themes of battle and capturing, than on any particular personnel or affiliation characteristics. Q: What affiliations are affected most by Blaze of Glory? Sandy: Probably the Dominion, Romulans and Klingons will benefit most from the new battle and capture mechanics. Tim: Of course, the new mechanics are designed to be of benefit to all the affiliations. Q: Can you give specific examples (of how affiliations are affected)? Bill: Let's save that for the next interview, after things are a little more finalized. ;-) Q: What are the gameplay innovations Star Trek CCG players should be on the lookout for? Sandy: A new battle-related side deck, enhanced capturing rules and cards, theme cards for the Jem'Hadar and infiltrators, and plenty of battle-related cards. Q: Do the cards of any particular past expansions blend well with Blaze of Glory? Bill: Yes, they all do! (But you expected me to say that, right?) ;-) Q: Do Blaze of Glory cards respond to any particular cards of past Star Trek CCG expansions? Tim: We always look for ways to enhance and balance cards from previous sets. For example, we're boosting Brainwash, Interrogation and capturing in general, while balancing abusive strategies such as Rogue Borg and Black Hole. Q: Do you foresee any new deck types as a result of Blaze of Glory, or, will Blaze of Glory cards modify existing deck types? Tim: Capturing and infiltration decks should definitely get a big boost! Sandy: And Away Team battle decks are becoming more feasible.
