The first one is a porcelain class which will be on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000 in the craft room at UCCD. The class is from 7-9 p.m. Items are on display in the glass case located in the front lobby of UCCD - select the one you like and sign up (green paper on top of glass display case). The class itself is free, but the porcelain items are $20 each. Please pay Rosa Rathbun before Nov. 17. For those that are interested in taking the class, but can't come to UCCD to select items and sign up, the following is a list of items offered: #1 Shepherd #2 Wise Men #3 Village #4 Santa w/ Sleigh #5 Sleigh Horn #6 Girl in Hand #7 Boy in Hand Each item comes equipped with a wood base and a display light w/ plug. If you're interested, please call Rosa Rathbun at 263-2179 or Laurie Moyers at 263-4887 (both tty). When calling, please give us your name, the item number(s) you are interested in making,as well as how many of each item, and your phone number. If you have any questions, call Rosa or Laurie. As for the second class, UCCD will be offering a Holiday Cooking class. This will be held starting next Tuesday night at UCCD. It is free admission. This is a great opportunity to learn time-saving tips, avoid holiday stress, and a chance to impress your friends and family. The following is the class schedule: Tuesday, Nov. 21 Turkey 101 Tuesday, Nov. 28 Holiday Treats Tuesday, Dec. 5 Christmas Cookies/Holiday Open Houses Tuesday, Dec. 12 New Year's Celebrations All classes will be held in the kitchen at UCCD and all classes start at 7 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m. To register for this class, contact Laurie Moyers at lmoyers@usor.state.ut.us or call (801) 263-4887 (tty). There is no registration deadline. Both classes will be offered in ASL. If voice interpreters are needed, or if other accommodations are needed, please indicate when registering. David Samuelsen" Subject: (uad-announce) Special Notice for Ogden Area Date: 20 Nov 2000 21:31:44 -0700 > Shirley Platt Attention Ogden Residents: If you are planning to have surgery or medical treatment at McKay Dee Hospital, or if someone you know who is deaf is taken to the McKay Dee emergency room, please have the hospital staff notify Rod Fifield 398-2085 or Connie Bohman at 398-3214. They will work with the hospital staff to make sure an interpreter is provided, signs indicating the patient is deaf are placed above bed, that the TV with CC is available with the remote, etc. Rod and Connie work for the hospital administrator, and I am working with them to make the hospital more sensitive to the needs of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
