From: "Dave Shearer" Subject: (utah-sailing) New Years Eve Party Date: 13 Dec 2003 13:34:42 -0700 Hey All Once again 'K' dock will be hosting the New Years Eve Party at the Great Salt Lake Marina. No, we won't be hosting it on the dock but rather at the GSLYC club house like last year. All are welcome to attend. If we have enough interest I will deap fry another turkey or two. Otherwise it will be a pot luck affair. BYOB. Bring your old expired flares so we may launch them off at midnight. Avoid the dangerous roads after the party and stay on your boat. And don't forget the "Bottom of the Pit" party next Saturday hosted by the Great Salt Lake Marina. Festivities start at noon. * Please visit the Utah Sailing Message Board: * http://pub63.ezboard.com/butahsailing * To unsubscribe send email to majordomo@lists.xmission.com with * the one line body of "unsubscribe utah-sailing" (no quotes). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: "Dave Shearer" Subject: (utah-sailing) Bottom of the Pit Party Date: 13 Dec 2003 13:44:47 -0700 Hey all Don't forget!!! This party is open to all regardless of affiliation and is usually a well attended party. A tradition that Clint Baty started in 1981 when 6 people came out to see the new docks and have chili during the winter solstice. This party has grown substantially since then and has become one of the most popular marina parties. And now that all the new docks are finally in what a better way to celebrate than to have some chili and walk the new docks. The party is at the GSLYC building at the Great Salt Lake. It will start at noon and run into the afternoon. For those going to the memorial for Jan Kitts, don't worry, we will save some chili. Bring your favorite chili recipe and beverage. If you don't have chili to bring there will be plenty for all. If you need more information please call the marina office at 250- 1898 or Dave Shearer at 261-0300 Hope to see you all there. And, of course, the annual first day of sailing follows right behind the 6th annual morning-after-the-party cleanup. I have reserved the yacht club room and the marina pavillion so we will have plenty of room and somewhere to go to keep warm. Bring your own favorite beverage along with your expired flares for the ANNUAL FLARE LAUNCH at midnight. I am asking people to bring a snack tray or something simple rather than do an organized dinner since most people will have eaten prior to the party. Party will begin around 8:00pm and conclude sometime around 1:00am Plan to stay on your boat so you won't have to negotiate dangerous roads. This way you will also be ready to go sailing on New Years Day. Email or give me a call if you need suggestions on something to bring or for any other questions (it is not necessary to bring a food item to be a part of this party). Come out and see the new docks! They are finally in after 3 years. Come out and watch the lake rising. Yes . . . It is rising!!! REMEMBER . . . THIS PARTY IS OPEN TO ALL (no club affiliation needed) Dave Shearer 261-0300 * Please visit the Utah Sailing Message Board: * http://pub63.ezboard.com/butahsailing * To unsubscribe send email to majordomo@lists.xmission.com with * the one line body of "unsubscribe utah-sailing" (no quotes). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: "Dave Shearer" Subject: (utah-sailing) RC Race Date: 30 Dec 2003 13:11:03 -0700 Hey all Weather cooperating, let's plan the 2nd annual New Years Day RC race.
