From: David Kenison Subject: [OUTDOORS] canoeing in utah (fwd) Date: 29 Jan 2000 05:45:56 -0700 (MST) ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Please I need your help. My boys and I are going to purchase a canoe and would like some information on where we can go around and use it. We are just learning how to use it and I've been trying to find a book or other information on where to go, but I havn't had any luck. Do you know of any info? If so please e-mail it to me and I would be very grateful. The ponds are relatively small, yet large enough to do some fun rowing. They also stock the ponds with fish, so you can do a little fishing while you are in the boat. When my children were younger, I would rent a canoe and take them to Burraston Ponds. It was one of their favorite things to do. Exit I-15 at Mona. Go to town and turn south on main street. Go out of town for a mile or two. Ponds are on the right about 1/4 mile from the road. You can't miss them. Father Escalante camped there and named it Ojo de San Pablo (Eye of St. Paul), and Indians used to camp there for peace conferences. An indian legend claimed that the ponds were without bottom and that in the middle of the night you could hear a baby crying in the bottom of the ponds. ---------- > From: David Kenison > To: utahoutdoors@lists.xmission.com > Subject: [OUTDOORS] canoeing in utah (fwd) > Date: Saturday, January 29, 2000 5:45 AM > > > > ---------- Forwarded message ---------- > Date: Sat, 29 Jan 2000 00:56:29 -0800 > From: "Gage,Don,SPRINGVILLE,Engineering" > To: "'utahoutdoors-owner@xmission.com'" > Subject: canoeing in utah > > Please I need your help. > My boys and I are going to purchase a canoe and would like some information > on where we can go around and use it.
