September & October are also good, but spring is prettier. Our weather is mild now. The apricot trees are in bloom & the globe willows are green. spring in Moab is beautiful. I love living here! Stop in & see us at the fabric shop (next door to Moab Cyclery) when you come! Our son's favorite trails are Porcipine Rim & Amasa Back. Just asked a friend who has hiked a lot on that area. She recommends the book by Steve Allen called Canyoneering the San Rafael Swell. She says it is an excellent guide book & thinks it will tell you what you want to know. She did not recommend the book by Michael Kelsey as highly. My friend has hiked & camped some in Devil's Canyon & really enjoyed it. Good luck & have fun!
