You can choose one depending on how much time you have, and desired difficulty. Count on seeing lots of beautiful scenery! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Jeanne Doomen Subject: Re: [OUTDOORS] Wondering Date: 19 Feb 1997 07:51:48 +0100 At 15:43 18-02-97 -0800, Derric wrote: > I am wanting to do some traveling this summer, and I was wanting to >know of some good places for hiking and climbing. I was in Zion last year and found it very crowded. I would suggest you check out Steve Allen's books Canyoneering 1 and 2. The first one covers hikes mostly (some strenuous), the second book is mostly about climbing. Utah's parks are the greatest. I personally like Arches and Canyonlands. There are super trails in both. I also like Capital Reef N.P. because it is quiet and not very crowded. Don't give away the secret. If you are going in the summer maybe you want cool mountians, Try the area around Silverton, Colorado. Let me know more about what area you are interested in and I can give you some ideas for great hikes. Gretchen
