Greetings from London I seem to remember a posting a while ago which mentioned a follow up album to Pocket Universe. Was I mistaken? Can anybody confirm it? If yes, when, when, when??? I understand that the video 'Essential Yello' contains numerous videos of their singles but so far have been unable to get hold of one. Any suggestions? And if you've got it, can you post the playlist? Move.... Dance.... Be Born! Yello is one of my favourites tecno groups . Although I have only two CD's of Yello: 'Claro que si' and 'Stella'. I have gone to the CD shop some times but they don't have the old disks. And Essential and Zebra seem to be recopilations of older songs ( mainly ), and pretty expensive. I think that old Yello is much interesting than modern Yello. I can be wrong easily . But , for example, I think 'Claro que si' is much more interesting and less commercial disk ( if Yello can be ever a commercial group ). But , I mean that the songs of 'Claro que si ' are 100 % original, and thoughtful, hard for the first listenings but once you've got the Yello touch , all the rest seems vulgar. My favourite song is ' She's got a gun' one of the most interesting songs of all times, a song able to create a world whenever you listen it. I'd like to know if there is some place where I can find Midi files of Yello. Well, that's enough for the first letter . I'd like to discuss with some of you, the artistic features of Yello ,as : - - expresionistic features - - Yello sense of humour - - relationships with The Residents and another tecno groups of the 80's Saludos Manolo # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info yello" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email yello@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. # Yello discography available at http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?yello ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 08 Jul 1998 21:00:52 +0200 From: Raphael Ackermann Subject: (yello) Early work of Dieter Meier ?? Hi all I'm Raphael from Switzerland. Recently I have bought an lp and two singles of the Veterans. I found them when I looked through the yello section somewhere. The lp is called: "There ain't no age for rock 'n roll" Gold Records LP 11 107. The Year is 1980 and it is a swiss pressing. On the cover you can see a man that looks like Dieter Meier. The singles are: "There ain't no age for rock'n roll/ No more smoking" Gold Records 10 027 Year 1979 swiss pressing and "I'm Jogging/ After Eight P.M." Mercury 6005 107 Year 1980 German pressing. I didn't found any of them in any discography. That's why I don't know whether the Veterans are Yello related. The name of Dieter doesn't appear at all. Most Songs are written by G. Roan, M. Malyster, S. Vanholme D. Bogart and J. Mauer. My Questions are: Has Dieter Meier anything to do with these records? Does anybody of you knows something more about the veterans? # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info yello" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email yello@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. # Yello discography available at http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?yello ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 15 Jul 1998 01:08:39 +0200 From: georg plank Subject: (yello) Re: Apollo 440 >Does anyone else think Yello and Apollo 440 should >make an album together?
