If this is set I'm thinking of, it only includes one or two string quartets as such, then over a disc of material from members of the Arditti Quartet and pianist Claude Helffer, in a number of configurations; I particularly love the pieces for cello solo, NOMOS ALPHA comes to mind. Is there any electronic music by Xenakis in print, outside the EMF reissue, LA LEGENDE... (which seems to be o.o.p. again), PERSEPOLIS, and KRAANERG (only partially electronic)? A few cursory searches haven't yielded anything. - ----s __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get personalized email addresses from Yahoo! Hi, Does anyone (Steve Smith?) know about or has anyone heard the Josh Roseman disc "Cherry" mentioned on the Enja website. Koch has a habit of waiting a long time to release things in the US after their announcement on the Enja website that they link to, which is a bit irritating. It looks like fun, a sort of Lester Bowie Brass fantasy / funky hybrid. Lester plays on it too, which has to be a plus, also Bob Stewart. Anyone know if and when it is due in the US? It's due for release this spring here in the States - most likely April at this point, pending their settling on a marketing and promotion scheme. Josh wants to do remixes for clubs, something Koch isn't used to, so it's baby steps right this minute as they get their plan of attack together. The disc is a ton of fun, with a lot of great covers - "Don't Be Cruel," "Kashmir," "Smells Like Teen Spirit," a couple of Sun Ra tunes, Bacharach, some originals. Not unlike Sex Mob or Brass Fantasy, actually. I've had a demo for a little over a year, since it was originally recorded for Blue Note, who turned it down for no good reason. In addition to Lester Bowie and Bob Stewart, it features Joey Baron, John Medeski, Ben Monder, Dave Fiuczynski and many more. I'll let you know when I hear a firm release date.
