Patrice. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- From entwistle-s@nova.novanet.org Tue May 2 10:22:15 1995 Subject: let's make a deal Greetings Everyone, I have somewhat of a love-hate relationship with Zorn's music. In my tiny Zorn collection, I have things like "Spillane", which I really like and have listened to death, and things like "Torture Garden", which I don't like at all. I have also played to death the Sonny Clark memorial album ("Zooloo"), while I'm sure I'll never give "Yankees" a second listen. I also kind of like "News for Lulu", and parts of "The Big Gundown". I'm normally a die-hard jazz fan but I'm intrigued by Zorn, who's obviously a very creative soul. My purpose in writing is to see if there's anyone with sufficiently different tastes in Zorn that they might be interested in trading for some of my less favorite CDs. I wouldn't mind losing: Torture Garden Naked City Yankees Masada/Alef >From things I've read on the Net, it sounds like some of the following might be more to my musical liking: Goddard Elegy Radio Anyone interested? Even if you don't have trading material, I would appreciate suggestions on Zorn recordings that you think that I might like, based on what I've told you about my tastes in music. Or maybe we could work out some other kind of arrangement. Thanks! I'll be seeing them here in San Fran this Friday (5/5). I'm quite excited. Also, according to the info that Patrice posted (thank you Patrice, no one here in San Fran seems to know anything about it) the new Ruins disc should be out today. I hope I hope I hope I hope I hope I have one class left today and then I am on the hunt. Jake (sibbage@sfsu.edu) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
