Is that one good? I LOVE these two! -Buried Secrets is excellent as well. Like "Guts" but not as spastic. Justin & Benny from Godflesh join in on two tracks. Anyway. I was wondering if you guys could recommend some more stuff that I should look for from Zorn and from ANYONE ELSE you could possibly think I would enjoy. I should mention that I love everything that I have by Zorn, and so I would rarely get disappointed. I'd have to say that my least favourite is Absinthe, but I still like it and listen to it, so basically, I'm into all. So, lay on any other things you think I would enjoy. I would appreciate ANY help! Thanks everyone! -Try any or all of the following: John Zorn - "Locus Solus" (Eva . . . reissued soon on Evva) Ground Zero - "Ground Zero" (God Mountain) -This is Otomo Yoshihide's (Japanese turntable & guitar master) free-form jazz noise unit. Zorn & Eye guest on quite a few tracks, but the album is excellent regardless. Praxis - "Sacrifist" (Subharmonic) -This is one of Laswell's many projects. Praxis have three CDs, but "Sacrifist" is probably the closest to what you'd be looking for. Zorn, Eye & Mick Harris all appear on this disc as well as quite a few other excellent musicians. Other (for the most part) non-Zorn stuff: God - "Loco" (PDCD) "Possession" (Virgin) "Consumed" (Sentrax) "Anatomy of Addiction" (Big Cat) -God are a monstrous free-form jazz noise rock 10-piece. Everything they have done is excellent, but I would recommend "Anatomy" or "Possession" for starters. Zorn actually plays on 3 tracks on "Possession". 16-17 - "16-17" (Recommended) "When All Else Fails" (Vision) "Gyatso" (Pathological) -16-17 are at the center of the Swiss free jazz-noise beat scene. The first two releases listed are LPs & the most recent is on disc. "Gyatso" would definitely be the one to pick up as it is beyond anything you'd care to tag "free jazz". Alboth! - "Amour 1991" (Permis de Construire Deutschland) "Liebefeld" (PDCD) "Leib" (PDCD) -Alboth! are a Swiss quartet utilizing drums, bass (drenched in feedback) & piano (played like percussion). The vocalist often screams/sings in German & his voice is put through a wall of effects. On their latest EP "Leib" they also incorporate some insane sampling for maximum headfuck. Check out either "Leib" or "Liebefeld". Hope this helps. -Patrick P.S. - How is "The Art of Memory"?? --------------------------------------------------------------------------
