From: mike@hyperreal.org Subject: (ztt) Horn/PSB "It's Alright" in Ford commercial Date: 07 Dec 1999 20:11:11 -0800 (PST) Just a bit of trainspotting... the album version of Sterling Void's "It's Alright" as performed by Pet Shop Boys, produced by Trevor Horn, is being used in the USA on commercials for the 2000 Ford Focus. Kind of odd to hear an 11 year old dance track in a car commercial, but who's complaining. -Mike # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info ztt" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email ztt@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. # ZTT discography available at http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?ztt ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Charles Daraghy Subject: (ztt) art of silence Date: 11 Dec 1999 14:31:44 -0500 Hi I was double checking Nibble's, and didnt see a listing for something I think exists for Art of Silence. Was there an initial single, pre-dating "giant" and "West 4" that was called "Art of silence"? so besides the album, west 4, a giant 12" and the 'teach me' 12", was there anything else? that's why i'm wondering about this possible earlier single. -Charlie # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info ztt" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email ztt@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. # ZTT discography available at http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?ztt ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Geoff Davies Subject: (ztt) TCH on TV ? Also, The Art of Noise has been selected as the music to accompany the River Thames pyrotechnics at the stroke of midnight ushering in the the Millennium. It was not made clear whether they had been commisioned to do new stuff, but it will be broadcast on the radio around London at the start of 1 Jan 2000. The documentary featured interviews with Horn, Kevin Godley, Paul Morley, Martin Fry, Geoff Downes, Jim Kerr and Brian Nash. Horn was also featured on a documentary charting the history of the pop video on UK tv last Saturday night. He recounted a hilarious story of how FGTH's Relax video was sent to him for his first viewing while he was in the studio with Foreigner. Apparently Foreigner were shocked and disgusted that Horn would work with such deviants!! Has anyone found this out? "Who's Afraid Of?" (AICT-121) and "Daft" (AICT-120) are in fact exactly the same like the 1994 Japan issues (WPCR-18 and WPCR-19) - having only one bonus track, namely "Close-Up" and "Close-Up (Hop)", respectively. But "The Seduction Of Claude Debussy" (AICT-119) is the reward: - comes in a different sleeve (white '+' mask on blue background) - is a cd-extra featuring the "Metaforce" Quicktime video - presents two bonus tracks (between "Pause" and "Out Of This World"): trk 13 "Metaforce (The Size Of A Metaphor: Mix)" 5:40 trk 14 "Dreaming: Colour __GREEN__" 5:22 And the green one is actually a fucking great mix (with Paul Morley vocals). At least as good as the red mix, IMHO. BTW, the booklet enumerates the new Dreaming mixes: 11 = green 22 = red 33 = blue 44 = yellow 55 = purple But where's the silver mix?!
