From: "Torben Brabo (TOB)" Subject: RE: (ztt) Trevor Vs Seal Date: 01 Oct 1997 06:37:28 +0100 Hello list, not that I should reply on anyones behalf. But only on my own behalf: In my opinion Trevor Horn is as much an artist as the performing artists themselves. I am convinced that Trevor Horn puts equal amount of effort, hard work and uniqueness to the music he either produces, remixes or even writes/plays/sings himself. Perhaps as is often stated he puts more effort and have much higher ideas/goals of the work in progress. Here in Denmark we (the TH fans) have always hoped that the yearly Eurovision Song Contest would ask a prominent producer , such as TH, to re-produce or even remix one of the songs having 0 points in the Contest. This would clearly show the power that the producer/remixer haves. Another point here could be the Art of Noise "The Drum and Bass Collection". Which in no way resembles the AoN, but instead is the remixers own tracks using bits and parts from AoN material. Any news on the AoN and ZTT project ?? - Torben the dane # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Email majordomo@xmission.com with "info ztt" in the message. # Postings must go to ztt@xmission.com -- replies go to original sender. # ZTT discography available at http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?ztt ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: tearsforfears@juno.com (G M L) Subject: (ztt) FGTH Greatest Hits Questions... Date: 01 Oct 1997 22:00:37 EDT -Hi all, My name is Gabe LeBlanc and I live in Duluth, Minnesota and am 16 y/o. Anyone know where Duluth is? Anyway, just bought The Greatest Hits of FGTH a couple months ago at BestBuy™ and love it! I had bought the new Maxi Single of Relax and loved all the mixes on that Maxi Single too. Anyway, since I've only really been a FGTH fan for a couple months now I was just wondering if you all could give me the names of all the albums and FGTH did. I'd have to say my favorite song by FGTH right now is Warriors of the Wasteland. Oh, DAMN, and one thing I found while in Paris over the summer at Virgin Megastores in The Louvre was FGTH B-sides CD and it had the same exact cover as the The Greatest Hits CD. Does anyone know where I can get that B-side cd? If so, PLEASE let me know! I'd be willing to pay $$$ for it. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help! Take care and may the 80's be with you! -Gabe :) =============================================================== # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Email majordomo@xmission.com with "info ztt" in the message. # Postings must go to ztt@xmission.com -- replies go to original sender. # ZTT discography available at http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?ztt ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: markw@pcmagic.net (Mark Wasiel) Subject: RE: (ztt) Trevor Vs Seal Date: 01 Oct 1997 21:37:46 -0700 --------- Sent: Tuesday, September 30, 1997 6:13 AM >As for Seal departing ways with Trevor, I think it's unfortunate >for him. Although the CD doesn't contain the fabulous 7" mixes of 'The Only Rhyme That Bites' (mixed by Trevor Horn!) and 'Tunes Splits The Atom', it's definitely worth a listen. However, I believe the best of their collaboration is the original 1989 version of 'Dance Yourself To Death', which appears on a compilation CD of the same name on German BlackOut Records (featuring also 808's 'Deepville' and 'Let Yourself Go - 303 mix'). Date: 29 Oct 1997 16:20:20 -0500 Dance Yourself To death. Yes, I know the song well! There are quite a few versions of it! Does anyone know if this is the same "Dance Yourself To Death" that appeared on the Greg Stump ski movie "License To Thrill"??? At the end of the movie, the credits read: 808 State "Dance Yourself To Death" (Exclusive mix). I know its on the License To Thrill cassette soundtrack, but I haven't been able to track down this version anywhere else. The reason I ask this question is that there is a good chance that this IS the same track because the video was put out in 1989 too! I know the Exclusive mix is nearly 7 or 8 minutes long. Please let me know if anyone knows!
